Houses of Worship ~ a poem, by Patricia Graham (UTS’80)

creaky knees

and rocking chairs

this old house

must stretch its joists

arch its windows

A breeze is coming through.

Judgments can’t iron out the wrinkles

and inconsistencies

any more than starch

can sort out linen.

A breeze is coming through.
